Savannah, once again you cut straight to the issue. These people have no real ideological or moral foundation but simply blow in the wind, jumping on the latest bandwagon issue that they believe will give them some attention and allow them to feel like a Justice Warrior when all they really are is a mouthpiece for the ideologically left-of-center outrage-of-the-day populist.

I was struck by your comment, "...that’s because their dead bodies are no longer needed..." ...it is harsh, but so true. Their feigned outrage and blame of pro-life laws (that they don't really even understand...because why would you need to understand if you've already decided what you want to believe, irrespective of the facts?) didn't award them the social justice or public opinion Capital they expected and so deeply craved, so now they've moved on.

I am so grateful that you shed light on the real problems in this world. We can’t celebrate murder in any form, to include the unborn. This is, most definitely, thoughtfully written, without any “fluff”. In a world full of “pick me” ppl, you analyze without any agenda, other than what is right and what is wrong.

Absolute 💯. I also can't believe people championing this murder do not see the slippery slope of their mentality "CEO killing is fine". How long before there's a rise in people lower down company chains getting gunned down in public because of perceived wrongs or badness? Horrific.

Nailed it on all fronts. As for TikTok, it's the garbage bin of social media, and why I deleted it after two weeks. The problem is that the algorithms are controlled by "someone" who decides how much we get to see of one side of an issue verses the other side, and it's leading to moral societal decay. Thanks for your post.

We don't do nuance very well in this country. Someone is either a savior or a devil. Most people are just flawed and doing their best, regardless of the color tie they wear. Not everything has to fit inside the culture war nonsense. You can say, regardless of politics, the cold blooded killing of an innocent man in broad daylight is wrong, and the Healthcare system in this country is in desperate need of reform. You don't have to pick a side to hold both of those ideas in your head.

Oddly cheering for one person's death isn't seen as evil. Wishing ill upon others no matter why doesn't lead to good things.

Thank you for calling out this deranged thinking. I am ashamed for these people who do not seem to understand the evil they are espousing.

There are those who romanticized the Boston marathon bomber, Ted Bundy, etc.... these are really no different.

I know some people didn’t learn about the French Revolution, but surely we all watched Beauty and the Beast. Is Gaston the misunderstood good guy now?

We still have innocent until proven guilty in this country. Did he do it? Idk. He’s supposed to be a very smart person. But apparently, conveniently, left a bread trail of evidence for investigators to follow. He wore a mask but nicely pulled it down for the cameras to take his picture? Also, there are lot of conservatives on X who, even though they don’t advocate killing CEOs, they’re not mourning him either. If you’ve never had to fight the ridiculousness of insurance for a sick child, spending countless hours on the phone between physician and pharmacy trying to get a damn PA approved, or a needed treatment or specialist approved, while seeing the profit margin of these CEOs increase by the millions, you might not get it. No. I don’t advocate we start shooting CEOs or anybody else. But I’m not mourning this one either. #sorrynotsorry

I "get it," Debbie. I have had to fight the ridiculousness of insurance for a sick child, spending countless hours on the phone between physician and pharmacy and insurance company for years and years and years. But do you get it? This isn't about "mourning" Thompson or declaring Mangione "guilty" before his trial. People are celebrating this murder. Having decided Mangione did it, they have declared him a hero for it. That is the issue. Our medical system is broken. Our medical insurance system is exploitative and ruinous. But celebrating murder will do nothing to fix them; it's just more of the same poison.

Thank you for your voice of sanity. Mike

Based on a few things that have come out since his arrest, I have a suspicion that the killer might have suffered from the onset of schizophrenia or a similar form of psychosis within the past year.

If that turns out to be the case, and the investigation and trial reveals him to be a sad, sick, incoherent person, you can bet the people projecting their grand narratives onto him will pretend they never cheered for him in the first place, and feign outrage at the next politicized murder that goes against their preferred narratives.

I 100 percent agree. We are living in the days where evil is called good and good is called evil. I can’t believe the amount of comments I’ve seen on threads alone.
